Workflow Engine
Skelta BPM has at its core a robust, light-weight, multi-threaded rules-based engine that executes the processes designed using the Process Designer Control. It provides a complete Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for the application developer to design, code, deploy, manage and monitor workflows. Processes once designed are stored in a relational database, and can be deployed in accordance with the business rules. The engine supports persistent execution of workflows in the event of restarting or system failure. It also supports fail-over mechanism, and offers a scalable environment that can run simultaneous workflows invoked or controlled by available APIs or by the Web service provided. Support for clustering of servers and processes into logical groupings in order to take advantage of load balancing, is also available.
